This photo exemplifies why I love creating patches. The crew of Artemis II are absolutely wearing all the patches from that career that have signifcant, deep, earned meaing to them. They wear them with pride. Each design has significant meaning to both the individual, the crew and the team that got them there. Godspeed, Artemis II.

Artemis Woman on the Moon patch

The space agency on Wednesday (Oct. 23, 2019) revealed new artwork symbolizing its Artemis program to send the first humans to the moon since the Apollo astronauts 50 years ago. In Greek mythology, the goddess of the moon, Artemis, was the twin sister of Apollo. - collectSpace

This patch uses a photo of the moon I took myself and uses a three step process to produce with an initial layer of embroidery for the moon texture, the dye-sublimation print of the moon over the texter and a final white embroidery layer depicting the woman's stylized profile.
